Vernon Dursley had long been abandoned by his wife and son, due to his radical views on anybody that he viewed to be ‘different’. They never changed, and it eventually drove his family away.
As the years passed by, his remorse started to come through, and it was a long period of regret and heartbreak which eventually led to the decline of his health. While in hospital, he acknowledged to his nurses, his doctors, his bedside neighbours, anybody that would listen, just how wrong he had been all those years. He knew that it was a small act of penance for the many things he had said and done, but it helped in soothing his conscience.
In his final hour, he only had regret that his letters to his family had not been answered for many years, but held hope in his heart that his words would be passed on to his family, and that they would know just how much he had changed and hopefully become a man they could be proud of.
It was with a peaceful sigh that Uncle Vernon passed on to the next life, the bitterness gone from his heart and a readiness for whatever was to come. He was very amazed then, to open his eyes and see a familiar man smiling down on him. This person had obviously been waiting sometime to greet him. Vernon could not hide his surprise.
For those who are asking for Theo James’s real twitter - here is it. Even his wife is backing him up.
It’s not his real account. He used to be TheoTap but then he left Twitter and somebody else has his username now. Theo James is no longer on Twitter.
Frank was in a rush. He had planned this special day for so long and if he didn’t get a move on, his girlfriend would miss the surprise.
“Hurry, Gideon! We need to leave now!”
“Alright, alright, I’ll be right there!”
Rushing from the house, they made their way to the quiet little village that many had fallen in love with during their years at Hogwarts. Gideon went off to set up the surprise while Frank went looking. Then, through the snow, he saw her. Alice. His bubble-gum girl. He liked to call her that for the excessive amount of chewing gum she consumed, and he knew that she liked it as a nickname. It was much better than being called, ‘Drooble’s’, a name he found out she hated despite being in love with their most famous product.
Slowly walking over to her, he had to stop himself from giving away his nervousness or excitement. He reached Alice and grabbed her hand, alerting her to his presence. Turning to him with a smile, she raised an eyebrow and said, “You’re late.”
“Yes, but you should blame Gideon for that. In fact, he wanted us to meet him in Honeydukes. Said he found some secret path into their cellar that Sirius told him about. We better get going.”
They trudged loudly through the snow to Honeydukes, with the sound of Alice’s loud chewing cutting through the air. Just before they reached the door, Frank stopped her.
“Alice, we’re not meant to be in the cellar, so we’ll have to be very quiet. That means that you’re going to have to get rid of your gum, but don’t worry, I got you another one,” he said with a wink, pulling out a familiar pink packet to show her.
“Ugh, if I had known that, I would have told Gideon to meet us outside. Fine, but I’m only doing this for you,” said Alice, spitting out the gum with a lot of annoyance written on her face.
“Thanks, love. Now take my hand, we best get going.”
Sneaking in between boxes and people, the couple made their way through the crowded shop and managed to slip into the staircase unnoticed, following where it led. The light at the end had a pinkish tinge and Alice hesitated a little, going forward.
“Here, love, have some gum. We’re basically here now so chew as loudly as you want but just keep following me. Come on.”
And with that, they started moving faster, one of Alice’s hands held to Frank’s, and her other hand unwrapping her gum. She tucked the wrapper back into her pocket and crammed the sweet into her mouth. Ah, sweet joy-
“Frank? Frank! There’s something in my gum!”
But Frank wasn’t listening. Instead, he moved even faster and in a couple of seconds, they were finally at the end of the long staircase and in a room full of pink lights.
“Frank! I was trying to tell you that- Oh.”
All around, there were pink bubbles in heart shapes floating around, with enchanted snowflakes falling lightly before resting on a surface. But that wasn’t what got Alice’s attention. It was the bubble writing in the middle that did.
“ALISON ROSA BURKE, WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
Alice spit her gum in shock and found that the ‘something’ inside it was a ring. Frank took her silence as the right time to ask her. On bended knee, he looked at her, the woman who had captured his heart with her passion for nature and herbology, the woman who loved him more than he ever thought he deserved. And then Frank Longbottom finally asked Alice Burke to be his wife.
Alice kept that gum wrapper with her like it was a treasure. It was one of the best things that Frank had ever given her, because it was a part of the new life that he wanted to begin with her. Little did she know that only a few years later, she would lose this treasure, as well as the many memories she shared with her beloved Frank.
Little did she also know, that one day, a boy named Neville would visit her as if in a dream with the same kind of gum and she would remember. She would remember, even if just for a second.
Salazar Slytherin wept in his chambers. He had spent the best years of his life and more working towards a school for the young witches and wizards of Britain, a dream that he had envisioned for a long time. A dream that he thought he shared with his best friend, Godric Gryffindor.
The argument had been terrible. “You know why we did this! You know that we are protecting ourselves from the people who have persecuted us for so long, and yet, you would welcome the children of these destroyers into the very heart of our works!”
“Salazar, you have always prided yourself in the love you have for the magic that exists in the blood of people in this world. Magic does not stay only in the pure families. It has gone beyond that now. Would you rather have that magic go to waste? The one thing that you have always fought against?”
“Anything than having the children of those murderers set foot in this establishment and mix with our people!”
“That kind of thinking cannot last long, Salazar. It will only result in our people dying out. Rowena and Helga have already ruled it out, why must you continue to fight it? For the good of Hogwarts, we cannot continue like this. I will leave you to think about that.”
Salazar stormed off, angry and disbelieving that his best friends had turned against everything he thought they had created Hogwarts for. Godric’s words echoed in his head, “I will leave you to think about that.” It was obvious what he was implying. If he wasn’t welcome here, then he would leave these blood-traitors to deal with their ancestor’s murderers. And if they wouldn’t deal with them, then…
Should he? Maybe there was a line that he was crossing. No. NO. He was going to leave them a little gift in the Chamber and wait until someone who was worthy of his blood arrived at the school, to restore it to how it should have been.
With a last smile, Salazar Slytherin stole away into the night, the idea of vengeance keeping him from regretting leaving the place he once called ‘Home’.
Just found out la bunch of animals were abused & died because of cruelty during the production of the hobbit. Well, shit.
I thought that the animals were abused at the place where they were housed. Nothing to do with people on The Hobbit, everything to do with the people who owned the animals and housed them in between The Hobbit takes.

Word of advice - don’t cut over something that will have no meaning to your life outside of a computer. Otherwise you will spend a long time cutting. Learn to make things in the real world matter to you, not stuff like this. I’m sorry for speaking meanly to you too, I still could have answered much more nicely than I did. Blessings to you, and may something put a smile on your face today.
